Short description: Huashan 1914 Creative Park is an old abandoned sake distillery, which a few years ago was reclaimed by local authorities and converted into a Creative Park in order to promote local arts and crafts. It is one of our favorite places in Taipei and it is especially lively on weekends, although you can always come during the week and enjoy its tranquility and architecture. The pavilions on the east side are wonderful to walk around and take photos, although they often host uninteresting and outrageously expensive exhibits. On the north side you have a cinema where they show old movies in their original version. In the central passage on weekends, street performers come and they do magic, balloons and humor shows. At the southern entrance there is always something on the weekends (this changes), and in the gardens of the northern part, local craft fairs tend to take place. Although there are fewer things, be sure to stroll through the pavilions on the northwest side (those that face Central Art Park). Here is a beautiful wall with a tree whose roots climb the wall (super photogenic), and also some very cute little houses. If you go with children, you cannot miss Wooderful Life, a kind of covered playground that takes you to a magical world, full of old-fashioned wooden toys, which both children and adults like. Also for children, to the north you have Central Art Park, a playground with swings, zip lines, slides ...
