Daan Park is like the Central Park in Taipei. A huge park with ponds, theathers and recreation areas. We especially love the north, where you can find a huge playground that is super lively on weekends. With slides, climbing areas, swings, skating rink, basketball... very complete!
In addition, you can walk a bit through the park passing through some bridges to the downtown area, where the Daan Park Pavillion is. And from here return to the north passing through the pond where huge birds live. In the west, do not miss the small bamboo forest.
To eat, nearby is a new Din Tai Fung, our favorite place to eat dumplings in Taipei. The good thing is that being relatively new, not many people know him and they don't have a long line! You can go to eat there or take your food to the park and have a picnic.
Nearby you also have the lively Yongkang street, famous for its tea shops and for its onion pancake stands. Also there you can try the famous Mango Saved Ice-cream.
Daan Forrest Park have their Red Line metro stop. Take exit 5 if you go to the playground.
