After crossing the Zurriola Bridge, you'll find yourself in Gros, a traditional neighbourhood which is starting to become fashionable in San Sebastián.
Just over the bridge, on the left, is Kursaal Congress Palace and Auditorium, an architectural complex by Rafael Moneo. Inaugurated in 1999, it has been the headquarters of the San Sebastián Film Festival ever since. Seeing it from the outside is sufficient, though there is an interesting entertainment guide you might want to consult before visiting.
In front of the Kursaal is Zurriola Beach, the most progressive beach and the one with the biggest waves in the city, which have made it popular among the young and surfers. It is the setting for several concerts during the San Sebastián Jazz Festival, and surf, skateboarding and other similar contests are also held here. If you're not too tired, it's worth walking along the promenade for a spell (and if it's summer, it's a great idea to rest on the beach).
Gros has good "pintxos" bars, especially in summer as there is outdoor seating and few tourists make it here. One is the famous and award-winning "pintxos" bar Bergara (C/ General Artetxe 8, near Plaza de Nafarroa Behera). Its most famous "pintxo" is the Txalups (puff pastry stuffed with mushrooms and prawns with spring onions and heavy cream and covered with grated cheese: 2€).
Wine lovers won't want to miss the opportunity to visit the two large wine shops in this neighbourhood, Mil Catas (C/ Zabaleta 55) and Lagar. Both have nice outdoor seating areas for drinking wine.
