La Castellana is one of the main streets in Madrid, and the financial and business nucleus of the city. While it is 6 km long, the most interesting part is the area around Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
With the stadium at your back, if you look to the right, you'll see the famous Kio Towers leaning against each other in the middle of Paseo de la Castellana.
If you cross over to the sidewalk in front and walk in the opposite direction of the towers, you'll find a business complex formed by the Europe Tower, BBBA Tower and the super-famous Picasso Tower. With 47 floors and at 157 metres tall, it was once the tallest skyscraper in Madrid and Spain. It was designed by the Japanese-American architect Minoru Yamasaki (also the designer of the former World Trade Center in New York). The Picasso Tower was the setting of one of the most powerful scenes in the Spanish movie "Abre los ojos" (Open Your Eyes) (1997) by the director Alejandro Amenábar.
