The route begins at Plaça Catalunya. While not the most beautiful square in the world, it is the neuralgic centre of the city, both for commerce and public transportation. Here are the well-known large department stores El Corte Inglés and book and record store Fnac. At the corner of Plaça Catalunya and Portal del Á�ngel is the Tourist Office, located under the square.
