One of the most famous restaurants in Sitges is Cal Pintxo (Passeig de la Ribera 5, just before Plaza del Baluard). For appetizers, the "Xató de Sitges" (13.50€) and codfish fritters ("buñuelos de bacalao") (11,46€) are very good. For the main course, the Rape (monkfish) Pintxo (29.30€) is excellent, as are the rice with seafood and "arroz negro" (black rice) with cuttlefish (21.38€). There are also menus for 25€ and 33€. It's a good idea to make a reservation (93 894 86 37; 93 894 74 64 or mrestaurant@calpinxositges.com).
Another good alternative is La Nansa (Carrer de la Carreta 24). The "cazuela de arroz a la Sitgetana" (rice casserole, 18.80€) and the "Canelones de mi abuela Rosita" (my grandmother Rosita's cannelonis, 10.30€) are spectacular. For dessert, at the corner of Passeig de la Ribera and Primer de Maig, there's a Dino's ice-cream parlour, a local Catalan chain. Their chocolate ice cream (1.80€) is very popular.
