How to transfer from Madrid Airport

Trip to Madrid city centre from the airport:

The airport is far from Madrid and traffic is usually heavy. For this reason we recommend taking the metro (45min). Follow the signs for "Metro" at the airport.

Check the MOVE AROUND section on the top menu to see how to purchase the "Multi" card to move around Madrid. If you decide to charge the card with the 10-trips voucher, you'll need to purchase the airport fee (3€). If you decide to go with the turist card, the airport fee is included in your Multi card.

There is a tourist office in the airport where you can pick up a map of the city and the metro.

If you buy a single ticket it will run you 2€. If you have any trips left on the 10-day ticket, buy an extra airport ticket for 1,50€. You'll have to take the metro to the station Nuevos Ministerios (L10) first and then transfer to the L8, which goes to the airport. It's very important to know from which terminal your flight leaves, as Terminal T4 has a different stop.
