Short description: Bukchon Hanok Village is a neighborhood located between the Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung palaces. Its peculiarity is that it remains practically the same as 600 years ago, full of beautiful streets and traditional Korean houses (hanoks). Wealthy people live in this wonderful neighborhood, and there are also several embassies. In recent years, the rise of tourism in the area has raised complaints from neighbors, so it is not uncommon to see posters everywhere asking for silence and respect to the neighbors (you will even see "sign men" :-). You can take a wide walk and enjoy its traditional streets and houses (the doors are really wonderful). Don't miss Bukchon-ro 11-gil street (geolocated in our app), which is the most picturesque and offers wonderful views of the city and the Seoul tower.
Duration of visit: 1h.
Hours: by the request of the neighbors, the neighborhood can only be visited from Monday to Saturday from 09.00-17.00.
Cost: free.
How to get there: by subway, take exit 3 at Anguk Station (line 3). Turn right and a little further on there are signs of Bukchon Village Walking Tour. You can also easily walk from Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung palaces.
