Cheomaeongdae Observatory:

Cheomaeongdae

Brief description: unlike a small thing, Cheomseongdae (7th century) is the oldest astronomical observatory in East Asia. Although today they are only stone ruins, it is a symbol of the scientific influence that Gyeongju had in ancient Korea. It is located in a park where you can see other tumulis, and also, on weekends it is very normal for events and exhibitions to be mounted there, so it is always very lively.

Duration of the visit: 30min.

Hours: you can visit at any time, although we recommend doing so during the sunset, since they illuminate it in different colors.

Cost: free.

How to get there: you can get there by walking out of Daereungwon through the south gate (5min). The closest buses are 60 and 61.
