If you arrive in good time for dinner, we recommend you to go to a very original place, Okonomimura. It is a 3 storey building filled with stalls that prepare the fabulous okonomiyaki, a kind of Japanese pancake-pizza, undoubtedly one of the most famous dishes in Hiroshima. The idea came from a group of street stands which prepared okonomiyaki in the main square of the city after World War II. Later they decided to team up and installed in the building to sell throughout the year. There is no stall that is better or more famous than others, so give them a turn and eat at any of them. Many have menus in English or with pictures, which makes it easier to order. They cook the okonomiyakis just in front of you (650-750¥), and they are just awesome!
To get there, take tram 1, 2, 6 or 9 to Hatchobori station. From here it is a 5min walk (follow the map).
