If you want something informal or just take some ciccheti, our recommendation is the Dodo Caffe (Fondamenta Dei Ormesini corner with Turlona Street, open from 09.00-14.00 and from 17.30 to 22.00). A super nice place with small tables at the edge of the canal. They make super good focaccias (€ 5-8) and in the evening they serve delicious cicchetti (€ 2). Many people come here to have a Spritz (€ 4).
For something more consistent, our recommendation is the Trattoria Bar Pontini (Fondamenta Cannaregio corner with Campiello del Pozzo, opens from 11.30 to 22.30, closed Sundays). Highly recommended are the spaghetti allo scoglio and the lasagna, not to mention its tiramisu (€ 20-25 per person). Maybe you have to wait a bit to get a table as it's usually very crowded, but you do not need to book in advance.
