Restaurants in Saint Mark's area:

Walking from San Marco to the Rialto Bridge, you have a lot of options. The majority great tourist traps. If you do not want to fall, these are our options:

  • To eat great fresh pasta while you keep walking (or sit at the edge of a canal), nothing better than the Dal Moro's Fresh Pasta to Go (Casseleria street, 5324). It is like a fast food but of very good fresh pasta that they serve in cartridges to take away (5-7 €). Terrific pesto and amatriciana, although all are good!
  • If you prefer an authentic place (one of those that have been there all the life), you better go to the Gislon Rosticceria (Calle de la Bissa, 5424). Although in the middle of all the tourist center, there are still many locals who come here to eat one of the most typical snacks of Venice, the mozarella all'aciuga (breaded and fried mozzarella, € 2). They have good fritters and they cook main dishes at lunch time (good rissotos). Although it is not the most glamorous place in the city (its tables look like a school dining room), it is a very authentic option.
