- Brief description: one of the most emblematic areas of Rome, where the locals go for strolls and to have dinner at the weekends.
- How to get there: a little complicated to get there on public transport, so we suggest that you go on foot and in that way you will continue to enjoy Rome. 45 minutes from Termini station until the Piazza de Santa Maria Trastevere.
- Recommended route: we recommend crossing the river over the Ponte Palatino. Along the way you will be able to see the Isola Tiberina and, before crossing the river you can call in at the Chiesa di Santa Maria in Cosmedin, famous for housing the Bocca de la Verita (Mouth of Truth). Sculpted like a manhole cover, the legend says that whoever lies will lose their hand when they put it into the sculpture´s mouth. If you fear losing your hand, you can always say that the queue was too long to follow the ritual... (open from 09:00 to 18:00). Once in Trastevere, visit its famous basilica, Santa Maria in Trastevere, and wander through the alleyways.
