- Brief description: once you are back in the Via Toledo, keep walking down towards the sea until you reach Piazza Triste e Trento. In this area you can see the imposing Piazza Plebiscito, the Palazzo Reale and the Castel Nuovo. Continue along the promenade from where you will be able to appreciate the beautiful Bay of Naples and one of its most characteristic symbols: the Castello Dell'Ovo, so called because, according to Neapolitan legend, the poet Virgil hid an egg in a vertical position in the base of the castle and if this fell, then the fortress would be destroyed and the city would suffer a catastrophe. You can walk to the castle but the best thing to do is look at it from a distance. The whole of this area is full of restaurants where you can eat fish (the mussels are famous) but they are not very cheap.
