Centre of Xi'an Old City. Take a bus back to the walled city (any bus that goes this way close to the tower). From here you'll see Bell Tower and Drum Tower, noteworthy for being made of wood. We don't recommend going inside; seeing them from the outside is sufficient. In any case, the cost is 25CNY per person and they're open from 9:10 to 17:00. It's also common to go up to the wall for the views of the city, but it's not really worth it, and this day is filled with lots of activities anyway. In any event, if you want to go up to the wall, the best point is the Southern Gate (the one you just entered through). You can go up from 8:00 to 21:30 in summer and spring, and until 19:00 during the rest of the year (40CNY).
