Suggested itinerary: Brazil in 19 days (oct-mar)

Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro

Arrival in Rio de Janeiro. The Smart Route will indicate you the best way to get from the airport to the city center. For the first day, we will give you a "botecos" tour (tapas bars), the  hottest locals in Leblon neighborhood. Night in Rio (in the Smart Route we will recommend you, for each city or town, the hotels and pousadas where to sleep depending on your price range).

Day 2: Rio beaches, Corcovado and Sugar Loaf

In the morning we suggest to do a route to enjoy and watch the atmosphere of Rio beaches (Ipanema, Leblon and Copacabana). After eating, we will show you how to get to the famous Corcovado to see the statue of Christ the Redeemer. Then climb to the Sugar Loaf to see the sunset and dine in the picturesque district of Urca. Night in Rio.

Day 3: Maracanã, Santa Teresa and the centre (Lapa)

In the morning, visit the most famous football stadium in the world, Maracanã. At noon, go to the bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa, we will indicate you its most emblematic restaurants. In the afternoon go down to the city center where you will see the most important buildings of the city, including the famous Metropolitan Cathedral. Night in Rio.

Day 4: Rio and flight to Iguazu

Spend the morning visiting a favela and the Botanical Garden. In the afternoon take a flight to Foz do Iguaçu. The Smart Route will tell you how to do all this and the best way to get from Foz airport to Puerto Iguazu, where we recommend you to stay. If you are lucky and the moon is full, do not fail to make a night visit to the falls, one of the most beautiful scenes in the world. Night in Puerto Iguazu.

Day 5: Iguazu Falls from the Argentinean side

In the Trip Planner you will find how to visit the falls on your own. We also propose the best route to enjoy them to the fullest. Night in Puerto Iguazu.

Day 6: Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian side

The Smart Route will tell you how to visit the falls on the Brazilian side. Although much narrower, they are also worth a visit. After the visit, take a flight to Salvador de Bahia. We will also indicate you how to move from the airport to the city center and where to have dinner in Pelourinho. Night in Salvador.

Day 7: Salvador de Bahia

This day we recommend you to visit the city of Salvador. In the Smart Route you will find a walking itinerary for the Pelourinho, the best places to eat in the Modelo Market and how to get to the other attractions in the city, such as the church do Bomfin, the Farol da Barra and the neighborhood Rio Vermelho. Night in Salvador.

Day 8: From Salvador to Lençóis

Lençóis is the entry point for the Chapada Diamantina, one of the most beautiful natural parks in Brazil, with its caves, grottos, lakes and waterfalls. The planner will tell you how to get from Salvador to Lençóis, in rental car or public transport, and the best places to dine and sleep in this charming town. Night in Lençóis.

Day 9: Chapada Diamantina: northern caves

This day we will indicate you how to make the route through the north caves on your own, visiting the Devil Poco, Lapa Doce caves and natural pools Patinha Grotto. Then go see the sunset at the Morro de Pai Inácio. Night in Lençóis.

Day 10: Chapada Diamantina: the Poços

For this day, we will indicate you in the trip planner how to make a visit to the Poços by  your own, visiting Poco Encantado and Poco Azul. Night in Lençóis.

Day 11: Hike in the park and trip to Salvador

In the Smart Route we will indicate you a walking itinerary through the park from Lençóis, visiting the curious Serrano Pools and some of the park's waterfalls. Then we will show you how to get back to Salvador and some authentic restaurants to have dinner. Night in Salvador.

Day 12: From Salvador to Morro de Sao Paulo

The Smart Route will indicate you the best way to get from Salvador to Morro de Sao Paulo (Tinhare Island) and the best places to watch the sunset and have dinner in town. Also we will tell you in which "praia" to book your pousada and which ones have the best value for money ratio. Night in Morro de Sao Paulo.

Day 13: Morro de Sao Paulo: the beaches

Dedicate this day to visit the famous Praias of Morro de Sao Paulo. The Smart Route will indicate you what time is the best to go to each of them and where to do snorkelling. Night in Morro de Sao Paulo.

Day 14: Morro de Sao Paulo and Gamboa

For this day we will indicate you a walking route to go from Morro to Gamboa by Praia Porto da Cima. Gamboa is a rustic fishing village where you will be able to eat very good fish at very good prices. Night in Morro de Sao Paulo.

Day 15: From Morro de Sao Paulo to Boipeba

The Smart Route will tell you how to go from Morro de Sao Paulo to Boipeba Island, a paradise, as nice as Morro but much less crowded. We will also indicate you the best pousada to sleep, authentic restaurants and where to see the sunset, sipping a delicious Caipirinha. Nigth in Boipeba.

Day 16: Boipeba: boat trip around the island

We strongly recommend a boat tour around the island as you can get to places virtually unattainable by foot, such as Moreré Natural Pools, the Cova da Onça or Canavieira oyster hatchery. Night in Boipeba.

Day 17: Boipeba: walking tour in the island

For this day, we will recommend you doing a walking tour from Boipeba to Moreré by the stunning beaches of Boca de Barra, Tassimirim, Cueira, Moreré and Bainema. Then go back by the interior enjoying the scenery and the characteristic Atlantic Forest. The Smart Route will explain you how to do everything without dying in the attempt! Night in Boipeba.

Day 18: Back to Salvador and flight to Rio de Janeiro

The Smart Route will indicate you the best way to return from Boipeba to Salvador de Bahia, how to buy tickets at the best price and how to get to the airport for the flight back to Rio de Janeiro. Night in Rio de Janeiro.

Day 19: Flight back home

The Smart Route will indicate you the best way to get to the airport to take your flight back home.
