- Brief description: less known than Uluru but equally impressive, Kata Tjuta is a rocky range some kilometres to the east of Uluru. The range is also sacred to the aborigines (in fact, some claim that Uluru is the male and Kata Tjuta the female). We recommend taking its two trails, both of which are quite spectacular: Valley of the Winds (walking to the second lookout and back will take about 2 hours; if you walk the entire trail, it takes about 3 hours) and Walpa Gorge Walk (approx 1 hour). Bring water for the hike. On the way back, stop in Dune Viewing Area for the best pictures of Kata Tjuta.
- Cost of visit: admittance to the national park is 25 AU$ per persona and is valid for 3 consecutive days (includes admittance to Uluru). You will find the ticket office on your way.
- How to get there: 15 minutes by car from Ayers Rock Resort. Clearly marked.
- Hours: the park opens at 6:30 am and closes around 19:30 (at sunset).
