- Brief description: Manly is a neighbourhood on the outskirts of Sydney, across the bay, and is famous for its beaches. One, a small beach on the bay, is very popular with families, while the other faces the ocean and is a famous spot for surfing. We recommend visiting both, though best of all is the ferry trip out to Manly. Board quickly and find a good seat on the rear deck of the ferry. There you can enjoy breathtaking views of the city, the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
- How to get there: take the ferry (F1) from Circular Quay Dock 3 (in Sydney Cove, near the Opera House). Tickets are sold there in small offices at each dock (you can buy your ticket from any of the offices, not only the one at Dock 3). When you get to Manly, exit onto the street and follow the signs to Ocean Beach.
- Length: 35-minute ferry ride.
- Hours: more or less every hour. See timetable.
