- Brief description: Santa Kilda is one of the most emblematic and fashionable suburbs in Melbourne. Famous for its location on the bay, it has interesting views and a good beach for sunbathing and swimming in summer. It is worth to go to the pier to see the penguins, very friendly with the visitors. Very close to the beach are the iconic Palais Theater and the Luna Park (small amusement park which is not worth much, but its facade is at least endearing :-). Its liveliest streets are Acland and Fitzroy, where you'll find numerous shops and restaurants. We recommend Banff on 145 Fitzroy Street for tasty sandwiches or focaccias in a relaxed atmosphere.
- How to get there: before arriving in Melbourne, take the West Gate Freeway feeder road and then take the Kings Way exit. Follow the signs to Santa Kilda.
- Length of the route: 15-20 minutes from Melbourne to Santa Kilda by car.
